The 2013 Inaugural preseason for VSI Tampa Bay FC is set to start February 18th. The players look to settle in quickly, learn Head Coach Weston's system and face off against Swedish team BK Hacken all within the first week of preseason. After BK Hacken VSI will take on four local universities throughout the month of March before entering into regular season matches.  

"We are looking forward to getting started on Feb 18th. We have invited several players into camp to try and earn a place on our roster and with BK Hacken coming first up in pre-season on Feb 23rd this will be a great chance for players fighting for a roster spot to show their worth against top quality competition from Europe," said Head Coach Matt Weston. 

After the BK Hacken match VSI Tampa Bay FC will enter into a series of four games against local univerisities where some of VSI's current players formerly played. VSI will open its college series at Florida Gulf Coast University on March 1 at 6pm.

VSI Tampa Bay FC will then head to the University of Tampa Thursday March 7 at 7pm and then Rollins college Friday March 15 for a 7pm kickoff. VSI Tampa Bay FC will end their preseason tour at the University of South Florida on Saturday March 23 at 7pm where former Bulls Sebastien Thuriere, Christian Silva and Shawn Chin will face their alma mater in Corbett Soccer Stadium. 

Weston further said, "We are also excited about starting our relationships with quality colleges in the area with pre-season games on the calender against Rollins, Florida Gulf Coast, University of Tampa and USF. This is so important for the future of VSI as these relationships can allow players the stepping stones they need in their soccer career's as well as a way to work side by side during the summer months with our PDL and Super 20 teams. We are in great shape to build up to our first USL Pro game set for March 30th in Phoenix".
