VSI Welcomes New PDL Head Coach Sheldon Cipriani

VSI Tampa Bay FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Sheldon Cipriani as the club's new PDL Head Coach for the 2013 season.

Former Ocala Stampede Assistant Coach, Sheldon Cipriani, will also play the role of assistant coach for the USL Pro team alongside Head Coach Matt Weston.

Director of Soccer Clay Roberts had this to say of Cipriani's new role, "Bringing Sheldon into the VSI Tampa Bay FC coaching staff is a great fit".

sheldon-cipriani headshotA great fit indeed, for PDL Head Coach Cipriani brings a wealth of soccer knowledge to the Tampa Bay area. He comes to VSI Tampa Bay FC with an impressive soccer resume. A former Youth International player with Trinidad and Tobago, Cipriani played in the First Division for his home country, spending time with Maple Football Club, Alcons Football Club and TSTT Football Club.

The former assistant coach of PDL Southeast Division Champions Ocala Stampede, Cipriani has an extensive coaching resume directing several youth programs throughout the country. He is the current Director of Coaching for Gainesville Soccer Alliance and holds a USSF A License and FIFA Olympic Solidarity Certificate. Cipriani is also on the Florida Olympic Development Program coaching staff.

Head Coach Matt Weston was also pleased with the addition and said, "Sheldon brings experience, professionalism and an enthusiasm which is contagious and has a great deal of respect within the collegiate coaching ranks across Florida. He has worked alongside me in the past, understands what 'we' as a club are looking for regarding system and style of play, and will provide the positive learning environment for these younger players to aspire to the next level".

VSI Tampa Bay FC is delighted with the new addition and will be holding an invitational tryout soon. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
